Learning of Caroline and Tabitha with a group of fabulous Detroit Queens was even more glorious. Yes, Queens YES!!!!
What a week and weekend! In honor of their year-round commitment to African American history, I have been driving around the city in Toyota’s gorgeous Prius Prime Hybrid and it has been absolute heaven! For starters, the car is super cute and perfectly tailored for a girl on the go like myself. The Prius Prime literally made my sometimes-hectic schedule so much easier and was able to accommodate my unique lifestyle. When it comes to cars, there are a few features that are on my checklist of absolute musts; touch screen navigation, amazing storage space, and easy to use mobile charging. Not only did the Prime pass my personal test with flying colors, but also threw in a few extras like a wireless charging station and a fully a drive mode electric charging feature. The car also has excellent fuel economy, during the week, I drove close to 1,000 miles and didn’t have to refill my tank once! Pretty amazing right? I think so too. And if driving a sparkly new car around wasn’t enough, Toyota decided to level things up even more by wrapping up the week with a day-long history excursion through the city of Detroit. The knowledge that I walked away with of my city’s history honestly blew my mind. I haven’t felt that giddy and eager for information since grade school, and easily could have continued touring for the rest of the day. The #SteepedInHistory Tour reminded me of being on a school field trip with your closest friends and favorite teacher. I would never label myself a history buff, but something definitely was sparked within me.
